Serneke building tenant-owner apartments in Sorgenfri in Malmö

11/06/2019

Serneke Construction has signed a construction contract with Ikano Bostadsproduktion AB for the new construction of 66 tenant-owner apartments in the Sorgenfri district in Malmö. The contract is valued at about SEK 96 million.

The project concerns the new construction of 66 tenant-owner apartments and a commercial space for the tenant-owners’ association Brf Skapa. The building will be five floors with a fitted attic and a cellar with technical spaces and storage.

“It’s inspiring to begin this collaboration with Ikano Bostad to further develop a nice city district in Malmö. We naturally hope that this is the beginning of a longer cooperation,” says Mats Olsson, Construction Manager at Serneke Construction.

The new construction is a part of Malmö’s largest and most central urban-development project. The expansion is being driven by the City of Malmö and will consist of 2,500 new residential units. The vision is for Sorgenfri to be developed and become a part of the inner-city. Serneke is already developing the Spiggan block in the same area.

Construction of Brf Skapa is scheduled to commence in November 2019 and the project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2021. The contract amount of around SEK 96 million is included in order bookings for the second quarter of 2019.
