Serneke to construct rental apartments for HFAB in Halmstad

The contract is for the construction of 74 apartments divided between two buildings. The building will have a total gross floor area of approximately 4,300 square meters.

“We consider HFAB to be an important customer, with whom we are already privileged to be constructing the Borgen block and the Järnmalmen block, among others. Accordingly, it is now particularly satisfying to be able to continue this collaboration, contributing to further housing opportunities in Halmstad,” says Viktor Nagenius, construction manager at Serneke.

In the area as a whole, a total 350 new homes of various types of tenure are planned. Housing for seniors, a preschool, a new square and park areas will also be created. The focus will be on bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The project will include the performance of a climate calculation.

“Serneke is helping us perform a calculation for the construction project. This represents part of HFAB’s approach to sustainability, which entails focusing on reducing our climate footprint,” explains Tuve Knutsson.

Construction is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2020 and the project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021. The order value of approximately SEK 89 million is included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2020.
