Serneke and Akademiska Hus sign contracting agreements for the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg

In 2017, Serneke and Akademiska Hus signed a collaboration agreement that included design and budgeting for the School of Business, Economics and Law’s new building in central Gothenburg. Starting as far back as in the spring of 2020, an older part of the existing building was demolished and Akademiska Hus has gradually ordered groundwork measures, which have been performed on an ongoing basis.

The new building for the School of Business, Economics and Law comprises two principal sections. The first section includes the building itself, and the second, the ascent and exit from the Haga station on the Västlänken rail tunnel circumnavigating central Gothenburg. Serneke has now signed a turnkey contract with Akademiska Hus for the construction of the actual building.

“This is a very exciting and challenging project. Our favorable and rewarding partnership with Akademiska Hus and the University of Gothenburg in the first phase of the project has allowed us to reach as far as we have today. For this reason, it now feels particularly gratifying to be able to get started with the work on site, and to be involved with, and contributing to, this key public development for the city,” says Patrik Hjelte, Business Manager at Serneke.

The project is expected to be completed during 2025 The is valued at approximately SEK 312 million, which will be included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2021.
