Serneke to construct apartments for Albèr Fastigheter in Karlstad

5/11/2021

Serneke has signed a turnkey contract with Albèr Fastigheter in the Swedish province of Värmland to construct, in three stages, 302 apartments in the Kasernhöjden district close to central Karlstad. The order is valued at approximately SEK 342 million.

The contract includes the new construction of 302 rental apartments in three blocks of five to seven stories. The apartments range from studios to two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, and most will have a balcony or patio. According to Albèr Fastigheter’s plan for the further development of Kasernhöjden, the district will include some 70,000 square meters of housing, services, shops, a school, a preschool, a local square and recreational areas. The homes will be equipped with solar panels, a geothermal heating system and a ventilation recycling solution, meaning that the energy consumption of the homes will be low.

“It will be exciting to be involved in developing the first project in a sustainable district in Karlstad and we are hoping for a beneficial and long-term partnership with Albèr Fastigheter,” says Magnus Grude, Works Manager at Serneke.

“There has been considerable focus on energy in this project, demonstrating that Albèr seeks to take responsibility for a sustainable future, which we want to be a part of as contractors,” adds Magnus Alvkäll, Project Manager at Serneke.

“We are very happy to have secured this collaboration with Serneke. This is the first stage of several projects planned for construction at Kasernhöjden in Karlstad. We will be continuing to invest in future projects with a sustainability profile in the area,” says David Eriksson, the owner of Albèr Fastigheter.

Construction is scheduled to commence immediately, and tenants are expected to move in as each block is completed – the last being occupied in the fourth quarter of 2023. The order value of approximately SEK 342 million is included in order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2021.
