Serneke collaborates on new water treatment plant in Ystad

10/14/2019

Serneke Civil Engineering has signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Ystad to develop the Glemmingebro water treatment plant. It will be possible to bring the new plant into operation during 2023.

To meet future demand for water purification, the Glemmingebro water treatment plant must now be remodeled and extended. The top priority for the project is good water quality. The plant being constructed is technically advanced and subject to food legislation since it is to produce drinking water.

“We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to be involved in developing Ystad. The water, sewerage and process industry is a strategic area of focus in which we have invested considerable effort and I am therefore very pleased that we have been entrusted with this project,” says Calle Magnusson, Construction Manager at Serneke Civil Engineering.

The signed agreement is a Phase 1 collaboration agreement, meaning that the client and the contractor will work together closely on the planning and financing of the project. The contract itself will be carried out in Phase 2. Malmberg Water AB is Serneke Civil Engineering’s partner in the project.

Construction is scheduled to commence in the autumn of 2019 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023.
