Serneke secures land allocation surrounding Östertälje station

2/4/2019

The Municipal Executive Board in the Municipality of Södertälje has resolved to allocate land to Serneke, allowing the Company to begin planning the area surrounding the Östertälje commuter rail station. The plans include up to 500 apartments, businesses and services.

The land allocation entails Serneke Project Development gaining exclusive rights to negotiate with the Municipality for two years regarding the transfer of the allocated area of land. During this time, Serneke will, alongside the Municipality of Södertälje, develop concepts for the project, ultimately presenting a proposal on how the area can be developed and transformed into a location with housing and services.

In addition to the plans for housing with mixed forms of tenure, businesses and services, possibilities to accommodate hotels and offices in the area will also be investigated.

“We are very happy to have the opportunity to develop this area, which has great potential, particularly given the good communications there. Alongside the municipality, we will examine how we can create suitable housing and ancillary functions to produce a qualitative living environment. This inspiring project will commence as soon as possible,” says Ted Mattsson, Regional Manager for Serneke Project Development.
